Lovely Telugu Movie Review

Lovely Telugu Movie Review
Cast
: Aadhi, Shanvi, Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore
Director
: Jaya.B
Producer
: Raju B A
Music
: Anup RupensSouthMp3 Rating : 3/5

Story:
Lovely is the story of a young girl (Lavanya) who loves her father than any other in the world. Unforeseen incidents force Lavanya to meet Aakash (Aadi), a fun loving youth. Lavanya’s father (Rajendra Prasad) gets a bad first impression of Aakash and instead of hurting her daughter by saying ‘No’. He tries to force Aakash say ‘No’ to Lavanya by playing certain tricks on him. And the rest is who wins in this process.

Performance:
Aadi is a powerhouse of energy. He has done fabulous job as Aakash. His dances are rocking and so are his fights. He does complete justice to his title ‘Lovely Rockstar’. However, he should concentrate a bit on acting in emotional scenes.
Shanvi is sweet with very little performance. She has to build up her frame slightly. LBW Fame Chinmayi delivered a decent performance in the role of heroine’s friend. Rajendra Prasad and Ahuti Prasad had overdone their roles with dramatic dialogues and expressions.

Technical Analysis:
Director Jaya who is making a come back as director after long long time failed to utilize the oppurtunity. The story of the movie is not so great and the treatment is complete let down. All the actors who are generally good seem to behave hysterically and over act in their roles. Dialogues by the new comer Shyam Manohar are less filmy and more dramatic.
Anup Rubens music is the only saving grace of the entire movie. All the songs are well picturized but are placed wrong. Cinematography by Arun Kumar is good.

Final Verdict:
Lovely is a ordinary story combined with over dose of drama. The treatment of the story is not convincing and is outdated. You can give it a miss!

3 Telugu Movie Review

3 Telugu Movie Review
Banner:
NK Theaters
Cast:
Shruti Hassan, Dhanush,
Music:
Anirudh Ravichander
Producer:
Natti Kumar
Direction
: Aishwarya R Dhanush
3 Movie Rating : 2/5

Story:
This is story of Ram (Dhanush) and Janani (Shruti Haasan), who fall in love at very young age and decide to marry after their graduation. Unexpected events happen and Ram dies. Rest of the story is about the reasons for his death.

Analysis:
As every Tamil film that is releasing in Telugu these days, 3 too is a film with dark shades. This film starts on a colorful note and turns dark and gets darker as the movie progresses. It will be hard to digest the film as it is extremely depressing.
Audiences started walking out of the theaters just few minutes after the second half has started. Aishwarya tried to explore the darker side of life and audiences are not expecting such darkness from this ‘Kolaveri’ film.
Maybe you may find 3 alright if you are prepared to watch a dark film. However, the snail paced second half doesn’t allow the audience to sit through it.

Performances:
Dhanush came up with extraordinary show yet again. He has lived the character which required him to show various shades of life. He simply excelled in his role. He can expect more awards out of this. Shruti Haasan fails as an actress. She is pathetic in sorrowful scenes. She has gone over the board many a time and it would be hard to bear her ‘performance’. She is definitely not a Kamal in acting. Rohini, Bhanu Priya and others did well.

Technicalities:
Techincally the movie is very good. Aishwarya had a very talented crew at her hands and they have done excellent job behind the screen. Anirudh’s music is pretty impressive. Kolaveri failed to reach the expectations on screen. Background score is good. Cinematography is another asset to the movie. Art department deserves a pat. Production values are nice.
Aishwarya excelled as a director in dealing with the teenage love. She should have stuck to a colorful love subject rather falling into the trap of Tamil dark movies. She failed to bring the right emotions in the latter half of the movie. Saying so, Aishwarya do have few qualities to become a good director, but she needs some fine tuning.

Final Word:
3 will appeal to offbeat movie lovers. Extreme darker tones doesn’t appeal to entertainment seeking Telugu audience.

Ee Rojullo Telugu Movie Review

Story

Srinivas (Srinivas) is a gullible lover who gets used by girlfriends for his money. Shreya (Reshma) is fed up with guys who wants to take their friendship to next level in order to have a physical relationship. They happen to meet each other when they decided to not to fall in love. They relationship starts with hatred and lies. The rest of the story is all about how Srinivas and Shreya unite after many twists and turns.

Artists Performance

95% of the actors in the film are new faces. Hence we see characters and follow the characters instead of actors. Srinivas fits the role well and does a decent job. Reshma has Trisha’s features and the director has succeeded in shooting her in right angles in order to make her appear more like Trisha. She is a nice actress. Sai, who did the stuttering friend role is superb and a big credit should go to the director Maruti for the characterization. MS Narayana’s 5-minutes cameo is entertaining. Ambati Srinivas (Vaddu Saroja fame) is good as a watchman. Bhargavi is spontaneous as a rebel friend of heroine. All other actors have performed with ease.

Technical departments

Story - screenplay - direction: The story is about a right couple who had bitter experiences with wrong counterparts in this contemporary set-up. The entire first half is a satire on current day’s youth and their materialistic attitude. The second half dwells on the real conflict point. Director Maruthi has directed this film like an experienced one without compromising on freshness and contemporary feel. He has studied the attitude and decision-making style of current youth well and shown it in the movie. You would definitely come across such a few characters in real life. He has shown the darker side of love/relationship in an entertaining way. The second half should have been more crisp. I liked the way he inserted ‘ring tring’ song with masked faces of Telugu stars at key points of the film.

Other departments: Music by JB is very good. He has used certain familiar beats to popularize music. Ninna Monna is pretty good melodious song. But, it’s Ring Tring that makes you fall in love with it. Cinematographer J Prabhakar Reddy does a fine job with Canon 5D Mark II camera. He used the flexibility of compact camera selectively (in scenes like carrying chai glass) and stuck mostly with regular shots. The quality of the digital camera is as good as a regular camera. Dialogues penned by Maruti are contemporary and catchy though there is obscenity in certain dialogues. Editing is fine. The ‘Good Cinema Group’ should be appreciated for putting content first irrespective of shoe-string-budget constraints.

Analysis: First half of the film is fun and second half has story. The plus points of the film are freshness and contemporary feel. The second half should have been more compact and the obscene dialogues/gestures should have been moderated. This film might not find a place for the people who may find certain dialogues and references to be offensive. But will go well with youth and masses. You may watch it.

Trade: Ram Gopal Varma has made a film titled Dongala Mutha using still cameras (Canon 5D) to show the world that you don’t need a big set-up to make a feature film and it can be made in shoe-string budget. But unfortunately it was not liked by the people as the content was not up to the mark. Maruthi has used the same technique and made Ee Rojullo with a decent content and in an appalling budget of 75 lacs (big filmmakers spend more than this for a single song set). The seeds of Ram Gopal Varma are helping makers like Maruthi in bearing fruit with decent content. This film is carrying hit talk and is poised to make break-even in days (one or two) and will encourage new filmmakers to come up with many more under-1-crore film projects. But it is always the content that matters irrespective of budget.

Naa Istam Telugu Movie Review

Naa Istam Telugu Movie Review
Cast and Crew: Brahmanandham, Harsha Vardhan, Nasser, Raghu Babu, Ahuti Prasad, Jogi Brothers, Uttej, Chitram Srinu, Giri, Vijay Sai,Vishnu, Pragati, Priya, Bhavani, Sravani and others.
Music: Chakri
Editor: Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao
Screenplay, Direction: Prakash Toleti
Banner: Universal movies
Producer: Parchuri Kireeti
Release date: 23rd March, 2012

Synopsis:
Naa Ishtam is the third movie of Daggubati scion Rana in Telugu. His second movie Nenu Naa Rakshasi is a commercial failure. He pinned high hopes on the movie to make it big in Telugu.
‘Naa Ishtam’ is a love story of a fun loving selfish boy Ganesh who puts the world behind him till he meets a girl Krishnaveni (Genelia).Krishnaveni is a girl who puts every thing behind love. So, it is a story of a boy and girl with contrasting mentalities who fall in love. What changes did she brought in his life? Did he change? What challenges he faced to win her hand? forms the rest of the story. Rana and Genelia are playing the lead roles in the movie.

Performances:
Rana – who tried a jovial role unlike his previous movies performed well both in action sequences and in emotional Scenes but ease is missing in rest of the scenes. He improved alot but still long way to go. He earned a poor name in dances in his previous movies. He tried making amends in this movie under the choreography of Prem Rakshit and delivered okayish performance. His rigid body language and height doesn’t permit him to do well
Genelia suited to the role well and performance wise she did well too. The pair looked good onscreen. This is her first movie in Telugu after long long time after Orange and she did a commendable job in a subtle role with out over action.
Harsha Vardhan, Subba Raju, Nasser and others are okay. Brahmanandham as Kadiyam Bujji and Ali as drunkard Balu managed few laughs.

Technical Analysis:
Prakash Toleti earlier is a roomie of creative director Sukumar and worked under him as associate. The first half of the movie is good with some good comedy. However, he stumbled a bit in the screen play in the second half. There appeared a lag in the story in the second half. Songs placement is erroneous hampering the flow of the movie.
Songs delivered by Chakri are mediocre and back ground score is just okay. Cinematography by Venkat Prasad is good. Art work by AS Prakash is superb. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, one of the senior most Editors in Tollywood could have worked better

Highlights:

1. Performances

2. Dialogues like ‘Avakashalu vaadukoleni prathi chethaganodu manchode’ and ‘Luv marriage ante manam preminchina danni pelli cheskotam.arrange marriage ante pakkanodu preminchina danni cheskotam’ drew huge response.
3. Songs Picturization
4. Venky’s voice over at the end of the movie
5. Item song starring Hamsa Nandini will make masses crazy.

Drawback:

1. Slow second half
2. Poor music
3. Songs placement

Box Office Verdict:

The movie has atleast two weeks breathing space before the next big release (Racha tentative date: April 4th). With good promotion and publicity, the movie can do well and encash this no competition period.

Nuvva Nena Telugu Movie Review

Nuvva Nena Telugu Movie Review
 Nuvva Nena Telugu Movie Review
Cast:  Allari Naresh, Sharwanand, Shriya Saran
Genre: Comedy
Language: Telugu
Director:  Narayan

Ratings: 2.5/5

The movie is said to be a remake of the Hindi movie Deewana Mastana released in 1997. The main lead roles are By Shriya Saran, Allari Naresh and Sharwanand. Supporting cast is of Bramhanadam, Ali and Kovai Sarla. Jeeva Srinvas Reddy and Raghu are also seen in the movie

Story:

The movie stars Allari Naresh and Shriya Saran and Sharwanand. Both the heroes are in love with the Heroine and try to win her heart. They keep coming up with plans to grab her attention. The boys have no intention of giving up on their lady love and so keep foiling each other’s attempts to woo Shriya. This attempt of getting each other down takes a comical turn and is supported by the presence of Bramhanadam, Ali, and Kovai Sarla.

Who will finally win Shriya’s heart? Is it Allari Naresh or Sharwanand?  Who will sweep the lady off her feet with their promise of undying love to her? Well you need to see the movie to know this.

Technical Aspects:
The movie is directed by debutant director P.Naryan. For a debutant he has managed to fare through with an average entertainer. The music is hummable nothing that will make your feet tapping and will make you jump in your seats. The songs were directed by Bheems and the background score was given by Mani Sharma.  The editing could have been much better. The cinematography by Dasarathi Sivendra was just average so was the screenplay by Surya. The movie was produced by Vamsikrishna Srinivas under the S.V.K/Cinema Banner.

Performances:

The actors Shriya Sahrwanand and Allari Naresh gave a good performance. The comedy scenes by Bramhanadam, Ali and Kovai Sarla were okey and managed to bring little humor. They seem to be a bit disappointing as the Expectations from the comedy was huge. The director seems to have missed his timing with the main element of the movie Comedy.

Final Verdict:
The movie is an average breezy movie which one might love to watch on a lazy holiday.  The movie is great to watch at home if you are getting bored and want to do something entertaining. The movie completely missed its mark with the comedy aspects of it. It could have been way better.

Not to mention the special bond that the Tamil technicians/actors share with the Tollywood since every week or the other, we get to see a dubbed film vying for the attention of the Telugu audiences with the straight ones.

Vishal too shares an irrevocable adoration for the Tollywood viewers for years now and is coming up as Khilladi, which actually is dubbed from 2010-released Tamil romantic comedy, Theeraha Vilaiyattu Pillai. Unlike his mass roles in other movies, this movie blends him in a lover boy’s character. Also, he is flanked with three gorgeous ladies that every onlooker would love to feast up on, with their eyes of course! Let’s have a look as to how far do the new look works for Vishal…

PERFORMANCES:
Vishal Krishna is definitely a good actor and came out with flying colors every time. Here, he played a lover boy and somehow appeared uncomfortable in pulling it off as convincingly as he does when it comes to mass characters. Neetu Chandra manages to showcase herself as a sex symbol and got the audience get glued to the screens and drool over her.

Tanushree Dutta is adequate and needs to go easy on her makeup; she looks fleshy but for the fact that the film released two years ago and thankfully, she burnt the extra kilos now (guess the reviews for the original too took a dig at her in this regard). The venture marked the acting debut for Sarah Jane Dias, who looked cute with her curly hairstyle and ethnic way of dressing. Agreed that she isn’t visually tempting, but justified her role.

Santhanam & co were good at delivering decent jokes. TSBK Mouli and Sudha as Vishal’s parents portrayed themselves well. Prakash Raj had nothing much to do, but his designed character as Tanushree’s brother suited him pretty nicely. Sneha and Mallika Kapoor flash for few seconds.

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:
Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is truly an asset. Every tune in the soundtrack makes us feel and breathe the delicacy of love. Locales in the songs were simply amazing and lifted the musical compositions. Another man who needs to be appreciated is Arvind Krishna for superb cinematography. Let it be fights or songs, every bit is captured fantastically. Editing by TS Suresh could have been crisper. But, I guess, director Thiru got confused with regard to the subject and hence clarity is in the end product. He allows the viewers to get little perplexed with the inexplicable screenplay. If given a good treatment to the script, the movie would have been better.

PLUS-POINTS:
Amazing cinematography
Melodious songs
High production values
Background score
Beautiful ladies of the film
Vishal’s acting talent

MINUS POINTS:
Hero’s perplexingly designed character
Story
Screenplay
Climax

VERDICT:
The movie starts off on an interesting note but the scenes and the script bears resemblance with Siddharth’s Chukkalo Chandrudu (2006). Vishal played it safe with different genre, but his character leaves the viewers bewildered. There are grey shades too in his character, actually stuffed with machismo and arrogance, and doesn’t allow the audience draw a conclusion about the same.

Thiru tried hard to toss in twists in the story here and there, but it all becomes too predictable. The story treatment is not gratifying since it fails to convey the right message. The way Vishal romances the three cronies, clowning around, is quite juvenile and silly. On the whole, Khilladi has some convincing elements but surely will not make it success, heart-touching music being the only saving grace. These kinds of films do look good on paper, but demand lot of conviction and knack to execute. Better wait for the DVD version!

Renigunta (2012) Telugu Movie Review

Renigunta (2012) Telugu Movie Review
Release Date: 08 Mar 2012
Director : Panneerselvam
Producer : Suresh Kondeti
Music Director : Ganesh Ragavedra
Starring: Johnny, Sanusha, Nishanth
Renigunta Movie Rating : 2.75/5

Suresh Kondeti has tasted success with dubbed films before, like ‘Journey’, and he has brought one more dubbed offering before Telugu crowds today in the form of Renigunta. The movie has been directed by Paneer Selvam. Johny and Sanusha will be seen as the lead actors along with Nishanth. Let us see how the movie is.
Story :
The story is set in the village of Tharigonda and Shiva (Johny) is seen as a young guy who tries to take revenge on a local rowdy called Khadar. Khadar is responsible for the deaths of the Shiva’s parents and that is the reason for the enmity. Shiva’s attempts on the life of Khadar land him in jail. During his stay, Shiva becomes a good friend of Pandu and his friends. As part of a strategy, they escape from the jail in order to reach Mumbai. But circumstances force them to end up in Renigunta.
The gang carries out a series of murders in the town and there is a motive behind the murders. During this time, Shiva comes across Sanusha and falls in loveinstantly. Sanusha is seen as a girl who is forced into marriage against her wishes in order to solve the financial problems of her family. Why does Shiva carry out the murders and what will he do for Sanusha? That forms the rest of the story.
Plus Points :
The artistes in this movie are mostly newcomers. But they do an admirable job. Johny is good as the timid guy Shiva who is forced to enter a world of crime. Sanusha is excellent as the girl who can’t speak. Her excellent performance is complemented by her good looks.
Theepetti Ganeshan is good as the physically challenged person and he brings a few laughs. Though the movie is a Tamil flick, efforts have been made to bring about an element of Telugu nativity. The first half is breezy and the goodbackground score actually brings an element of suspense to the proceedings.
Ace director V.V.Vinayak’s voice over is an advantage and the pre-climax scenes have been shot well.
Minus Points :
The actors are seen with wild hair and torn clothing. While this is good for authenticity and realistic portrayal, it wont work with Telugu crowds. The second half does not sustain the tempo of the first half and this is disappointing.
The excessive length of the film also works against it. The sad endings seen in all Tamil flicks is a big minus. The production values are very poor and the songs are extremely bad. In addition to this , their timing is even worse. They just spoil the flow.
Care should have been taken in dubbing.
Technical Aspects :
Editing is ok in the first half but should have been better in the second half. Cinematography is alright. Background score is good but the songs are bad.Dialogues are just about ok.
Verdict :
The movie will not appeal to everyone because of the way it is shot. The excessive length, poor climax and Tamil nativity will offset the good performances and racy first half. Watch this movie only if you are a die hard fan of Tamil flicks.

Renigunta Movie Rating : 2.75/5

Manchu Manoj is very confident about the Mr.Nookayya. The Movie earlier titled as Mr.Nokia but later it was changed to Mr.Nokia.Lets see Manchu Manoj Mr.Nokia Movie Review.

Will he succeed in helping Anu get her husband back? Go ahead and watch the movie!!

The first half the movie is good to an extent but an editing job which has gone bad and stole the charm away from it. The director has also not kept the screenplay up to the mark.

The after interval movie stays true to its tag line “No Caption Only Action”. It is packed with good action sequences and has kept the action hungry fans happy. With a few twist and turns the movie comes to its climax managing to hold peoples interest to the end.

Performances:
Actor Manoj Manchu’s performance is the silver lining of this movie. He has done his role very well proving his caliber as an actor. His dance moves and action sequences have left the audience applauding his performance. His female leads Kirti Kharbanda and Sana Khan have also managed to keep up their acting skills on par with his.
Bramhanadam and Vennela Kishore have managed to tickle a few funny bones here and there. The rest of the cast also did an appreciable job.

Technical Aspects:
Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music was good and people enjoyed it. The background score was also done in his typical style. The cinematography was nice but a bit on the glitzy side. The editing needed to be better. It would have definitely given the movie a smooth flow. The director Anil has not missed the mark totally. He has managed to keep people in their seats right till the end.  The action sequences and the dances were the highlight of the movie. Producer D.S. Rao has surely spent lavishly on the movie and has produced it very well.
So guys what are you waiting for? After having drenched yourself with colors and playing some tiresome Holi you can head to the theaters and watch this movie to complete your Holi Holiday.

Final Verdict:
Mr.Nookaya is a mild average entertainer with a bundle of good performance from the lead star. Manoj’s energetic and lively Performance has lifted the movie from being a normal one to being a good one. The ball is now in the audience’s court, we need to see if they like it or let it pass as an average movie.
 Mr. Nookayya Movie Rating: 2.75/5
