In what may be called a surprising run for Ishq in week two, the Vikram Kumar film has made history by mopping up 125% more than the first week collections, in the second week.  The romantic-comedy did not have spectacular openings, but it picked up in the second week mainly because of the positive buzz it generated, says a press note from BlueSky Cinemas, Inc.

"Normally 2nd week collections are not more than 30-40% for any movie. Even blockbusters don't clock more than 50% in 2nd week. Due to the tremendous response Ishq has had, it is going stronger and stronger and is expected to run like this for few more weeks in US", it read.

The cackling chemistry between Nitin and Nithya Menen, PC Sreeram's cinematography and Anoop Ruben's musical score (including background score) are said to be the prime reasons behind Ishq's success.  Ishq has been the most popular release in Nitin's career since Jayam (2002).
